New Orleans Cop Says Treyvon Martin Deserved to ‘Die Like A Thug’!

New Orleans police officer, Jason Giroir, 35, has been suspended indefinitely without pay for making disparaging remarks about 17-year-old Trayvon Martin online, reports NOLA.com.

In response to a comment posted Sunday on WWL-TV.com on a story about Trayvon, who was unarmed when he was gunned down by George Zimmerman, 28, Giroir said that the 17-year-old deserved to die:

“Act like a Thug Die like one!” he wrote.

Giroir’s wife echoed her husband’s sentiments on the same article:

“He acted like a thug and died like one,” she wrote.

When a commenter said that Giroir’s comments were racist, the veteran did not back down:

“… come on down to our town with a ‘Hoodie’ and you can join Martin in HELL and talk about your racist stories!”

Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said that he is outraged by Giroir’s comments and that they do not  reflect the views of the New Orleans Police Department.

“To say I’m angry is an understatement. I’m furious,” Serpas said.

Giroir was placed on desk duty during a recent investigation after he killed a Black man during a routine traffic stop. Justin Sipp was in the car with his brother, Earl Sipp, when Giroir and two back-up officers claim that Justin opened fire and was subsequently killed. Once the investigation was complete, Giroir was returned to his post in the 8th district.

According to NOLA.com, Giroir’s Myspace page at the time of the shooting raised some concerns about his professionalism:

Hello, my name is Jason C. Giroir. I have been a New Orleans police officer for almost 10 years. I enjoy my job because I like to make a positive impact in life. Sometimes that means not doing everything by the book. Everyone who knows me understands what I mean.”

     Calling this a “racial” shooting is RIDICULOUS!!!!
    A Ridiculous Lie, perpetrated by those who truly are RACISTS!!!

    While it is true that the volunteer neighborhood patrol person in this case did first spot the young man in the neighborhood, the volunteer stopped following him as was ordered by 911 dispatch and continued to simply patrol the area, that is his job.That is what neighborhood crime watch people do, patrol, to protect you and the neighborhood.

     This strong healthy young man walked up and confronted the neighborhood patrol volunteer and  knocked him to the ground quite quickly I might add, and  started pounding his face in. Pounding it in so severely he was breaking facial bones
    Getting your face pounded in while your on the ground by a strong healthy young man, as he is  wailing away at your face with his fists and breaking bones in your face.. I would hardly call that “racial” motivation. Having this out of control strong healthy teenager go for your gun while he is beating your face in and breaking your facial bones while your still on the ground. PLEASE!! That shooting is called “self defense” against an aggressor and dangerous individual who was reaching for a gun to kill.
    It is very very sad that someone died here, it is very very sad that someone got badly beat up here…  but get the facts straight.. no one was just skipping home with some candy from the store and all of the sudden they were chased down and shot.  All the facts have come out, that is why the volunteer was NOT charged by the police. That is why  the TRUE RACISTS have  come out as they have here recently and tried to say this young man was shot because of his race and THAT IS A LIE!  
    This incident happened because of an altercation, where someone was being badly beat to the point of fearing for his life while his facial bones were being broken, and his gun was being removed from his body by an aggressor trying to kill him.

    I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were there and saw exactly how it went down. Well, let’s just get you up there on the stand and case closed! No wait, we’ll make you the judge and your can exonerate Zimmerman based on your first hand knowledge of the incident.

    I’m not saying who was right our wrong, but don’t speak with the conviction that you know exactly what went down and how.

    In response to “outraged,” I agree. You shouldn’t speak as if you know exactly what happened that night. No one should for that matter. What you are referring to is what you’ve heard, not visually witnessed. If someone told you that some guy you did not even know was a rapist, would you automatically treat him as such? My point! I’m a medical student and me being African American has nothing to do with my analysis of this particular situation. I see assault victims daily, however, I’ve never seen a 17yr/old, smaller than normal I may add, cause as much damage as what the media says. Also, if the facial bone is broken, it tends to lead to severe swelling due to the intense vascularity of the area. From what I can SEE from the video of the shooter in the police department, this swelling (normal physiological process) is absent. Can you explain this? I don’t expect you to. Also, due to the trauma of this highly vascularized area, one would expect to see severe ecchymosis (bruising) surrounding this area. This sign is absent as well. So, I can safely conclude that a “broken” nose is highly unlike before I even order radiology to conclude this. Basically what I’m hinting is to you is this: speak on only what you KNOW.

    And now, as the lies of the media come to the surface and it is exceedingly clear that Trayvon Martin was a thug who brutally attacked George Zimmerman, a man who made absolutely no indications at any time of being a racist, you should feel ashamed at YOUR overt and smug racism. GUILTY UNTIL INNOCENT ASSHOLE.
