Nonetheless, I’m glad Anthony Mackie handled that well. It could’ve been a (Beyonce voice) disastuh! Meredith did issue an apology though…
UPDATE 3/10: Vieira is sorry. She says in a statement: “During an interview with the cast of the hurt locker on Monday, I turned to actor Anthony Mackie and made a joke about “man hugging” in reference to a hug he and fellow actor Jeremy Renner had shared a few weeks earlier on our air. It was meant to be lighthearted, but some were offended by what they believed to be a homophobic comment. That was never my intent, but that doesn’t matter. Words are extremely powerful and should never be chosen lightly, even in a lighthearted moment. I apologize to any and all that I offended. My support of the gay and lesbian community is longstanding and well documented. It has not and will never waver.”
What’s up with all these athletes wanting to be TV stars?
The latest wannabe crossover athlete is NFL and Twitter star Chad Ocho Cinco — he’s really getting into this reality thing – first he’s cast on the new season of Dancing With the Stars – and now he is casting for his own new reality show on VH1, which sounds like it’s entitled “Playing The Field” (why won’t VH1 just hook him and Pepa up??! Duh!)
Last night, Mo’Nique Gabrille Union stepped out to eat at Katsuya in Hollywood. She looks great with her brown locks. With a smile like that, someone’s husband must be treatin’ her right! Ha!
Psych’s Dule Hill also dined at Katsuya in Hollywood last night with a mysterious female! Not sure if the swirl is in effect here – but Dule has been looking kinda rough around the edges lately. Hopefully the brotha’s not overworked – he’s surely not underpaid!
I think it’s great that these celebrities come out and want to bring awareness to the AIDS epidemic. I would be even greater if more celebrities with AIDS “came out” (a la Magic Johnson) to show the world that no one is invincible to the AIDS epidemic. And there is no shame.
I ain’t never really did this but right now I need all of my fans help. A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need is you guys and nothing else will do that except for the fans.
I don’t know what else to say. It’s nothing else that I can do. I’m doing everything that I need to do. I’m doing me as a person and I’m a better guy.
It’s on ya’ll. My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are. I just want all my fans to help me. I love ya’ll. Peace.
