AMERIE CHANGES NAME TO SOMETHING MORE ILLUMINATI FRIENDLY! LOL!

R&B singer Amerie has an all of a sudden name change… she adds an “i” to her name! I wonder if that stands for? My guess, illuminati? Welcome to the team!

If she gets Jay-Z on a song, or her record sells sky rocket we’ll know why! Hahahahahahaha!!!!! But for real it’s been a long time coming since Amerie first appeared on the scene … she HAS to switch it up to get new fans!

According to RAPUP….

The Grammy-nominated artist, who now goes by Ameriie, added an I to her name to reflect positive energy. She announced the change to Rap-Up.com last month, but didn’t go public with it until her new Twitter page (@ItsAmeriie) was set up.

Ameriie has been in the studio working on the follow-up to last year’s In Love & War called Cymatika Vol. 1 (note the new spelling), named after the study of visible sound and vibration. “I’m still in the studio right now, so the best thing I can say is it’s a very international, worldly sound,” she told Rap-Up TV.

In addition to changing her name, Ameriie has also become engaged to her longtime manager Lenny Nicholson. The couple is planning to wed in 2011.

UPDATE: Ameriie has provided Rap-Up.com with further explanation of the name change. “I operate on vibes and intuition, and I believe everything is energy; the vibration of the double I is right for me. Slightly different spelling, completely same pronunciation!”

AMERIE’S HOT NEW SINGLE!! LOVE IT OR MORE OF THE SAME?

I’m always feeling Amerie’s singles but it never makes me want to buy her albums. It’s so weird how that works!!! So what’s missing?? I think we’re missing her personality!! I mean damn she don’t never be nowhere, I ain’t never heard her talk much, can she act? Like “Who is Amerie?” That’s the question that needs to be answered, then maybe she’ll sell more albums?

She keeps pushing though!! And for God’s sakes, switch up that hairdo!!

The singer, who recently got engaged to her longtime manager, drops The Inkredibles-produced single “Who’s Gonna Love You,” boasting her distinctive funk-pop sound and brash energy. The bride-to-be exclusively revealed to Rap-Up.com that the follow-up to last year’s In Love & War will be called Vol. 1. Cymatics, derived from the Greek word wave, means the study of visible sound and vibration. Okay, Ummmm ….No release date has been set, but A did previously tell us that she wants to incorporate her newly-acquired guitar skills on the project.

AMERIE FLOPS IN AMERICA; EMBRACES KOREAN ROOTZ!

The States haven’t shown much interest in poor Amerie and her new album In Love & War, so the sexy and talented singer packed her bags and took her music over to Korea to see if the audiences abroad would be more receptive to it than US AMERICANS have been.

My opinion is Amerie is suffering from the “basic bitch” syndrome – like Cassie, Christina Milian, Ashanti and all them other basics. Gone are the days where being cute and wiggling your hips will make you successful — not enough in the post-Beyonce world! (You too Keri HILSON!!)

One of the first steps on her international promo tour of the country was the KIA Motors Auto Show, where she performed the official remix to her single “Heard Em’ All” with popular Korean girl group 4minute. The performance is basically the same as all of Amerie’s other “Heard Em All” performances, just with more Korean’s this time, but it was pretty good and the addition of the girl group helped keep things interesting.
