JILL SCOTT APPALLED BY GRAMMY SNUB!

Last night at the 2012 Grammy Nominationsat Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles many artists old and new celebrated the organization recognizing their work.

Kanye West had the biggest night with 7 nominations, Adele and newcomer Bruno Mars snagged 6 each while Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Beyonce all snagged nominations. Jill Scott who landed her first number one album with ‘Light of the Sun’ was noticeably missing. Scott’s fans weren’t the only ones who noticed the ‘snub’, Jill Scott herself had a few choice words for the Grammy organizers via Twitter:

Last year VH1 had a hard time finding diva’s for their somewhat popular Vh1 Diva’s show. How do I know this? Well, Nicki Minaj was one of the performer’s… WOMP!

I’m not knocking Nicki. Anyone who reads my post’s knows that I am #teamNicki Minaj all the way but a VH1 Diva she is not, lets just keep it real. This time around then network got it right, well almost.

Chris Brown has been confirmed as a performer at this year’s BET Awards along with Alicia Keys and Jill Scott.

BET has begun to roll out their guest list for this year’s award show. Already announced to perform is Chris Brown Alicia Keys and Jill Scott.

The show will be hosted by Kevin Hart, and will also be honoring Patti LaBelle with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Steve Harvey will also be honored at the show and will receive the 2011 Humanitarian Award. Read more…

Jill Scott says she cried when talent executive Charles Whitfield sent her the track that would become “So In Love”, the lush new single from her forthcoming The Light Of The Sun.

Jill added her butter-smooth vocals to the track (which already featured soul crooner Anthony Hamilton), and the match up yielded a sweet, infectious jam that Jill expects to become a wedding perennial.

Queen Latifah is the latest celebrity to launch a clothing line with HSN and she wants you to know that it’s not a plus- size line!

While promoting her new clothing line with HSN, Latifah said “[plus –size] is a word we need to bury at this point” noting that her new line will be for all sizes. “The truth is, we all would like to wear the same clothes. We all want to wear beautiful, fly clothes no matter what size you are, and so for me it was important to match with a company that understood and respected that ideal.”
