While her fans and the curious public anxiously awaited their first glimpse of the singer since the announcement of her divorce, Katy Perry is making everyone wait a little bit longer.
The newly-single 27-year-old was scheduled to attend this Wednesday night’s (January 11) People’s Choice Awards, but unfortunately has just announced that she will no longer be making an appearance.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand will officially be ending their marriage this year, and to help cope with the situation, the “Teenage Dream” singer has reached out to her gal pal Rihanna for support.
Perry is having a tough time coping with the split, according to various online reports.

In the docs, filed in L.A., Brand cites “irreconcilable differences.” The two were married Oct. 23, 2010 in India. They have no kids. Sources had told TMZ the couple was having problems, evidenced by the fact that they spent Christmas apart and neither was wearing a wedding ring.
