A film with Black women that doesn’t involve Tyler Perry in a dress!

S&A reports Angela Bassett revealed that everyone from the original cast is on board for the ‘Exhale’ sequel and Forest Whitaker will direct. “She (McMillan) wrote Getting to Happy and she’s written the screenplay… Loretta, Lela, Whitney, Forest. Forest is working on the script now, ” she said.

The 1995 film Waiting To Exhale was an enormous commercial success making over $81 million. Critics gave it mixed to negative reviews but the film prevailed despite that. So in addition to Bassett, we’ll get to see Lela Rochon, Loretta Devine and Whitney Houston once again. This movie will debut #1!

The promo pics for Tyler Perry’s Highly anticipated ~~“Women of Brewster Place”~~ “For Colored Girls…” were released today…

And I must say that I want to go see this!!! Although the pics are photoshopped to the Gods, [if I were the marketing/poster maker I would've main the posters a little more raw and natural]. But at the same time, I’m glad to see our legends and beautiful women portrayed in such a positive, beautiful light.

Which actress do you think is really going to bring it? I say Kimberly Elise, I mean damn, she’s already crying…..

BOW WOW ADDED TO THE CAST OF THE NEXT MA DUKES FILM!

Now that Bow Wow is legal, the budding film star has been added to the cast of ~~Ma Dukes~~ Mr. Tyler Perry’s latest Madea film [these movies just keep going like the Energizer bunny!].

According to IAE Magazine:

Bow Wow made an announcement via Twitter that he will be joining Tyler Perry on his next feature film, “Madea’s Big Happy Family.” AOL Black Voices reported that Bow Wow and Loretta Devine will team up again and that they will play mother and son. Also, joining the cast is Lauren London. Tyler Perry is directing, writing, and producing “Madea’s Big Happy Family.” This is a 34th Street Films and The Tyler Perry Company production, and Lionsgate will distribute and is currently set for an April 22, 2011 theatrical release.
