Friday “Lottery Ticket” starring Bow Wow, Brandon T. Jackson, Mike Epps and others opened in limited release this past weekend (1,973 theaters) came in 4th behind: “The Expendables” ($16.5 mil), ”Vampires Suck” ($12.2 mil), and “Eat Pray Love” ($12 mil). (Source)
Unfortunately, the Warner Bros. produced film which cost $17 million to make, only grossed $11 million in box office receipts. And the chances of “Lottery Ticket”recouping its losses this upcoming weekend seems to be null and void . On Friday, August 27 Sony/Screen Gem will release its highly anticipated testosterone ladenstar studded film “Takers” starring Idris Elba, Michael Ealy, T.I., Chris Brown, and Paul Walker.
Needless to say with the release of ”Takers” things aren’t looking good for Shad Moss and company. Oh well, there is always his next film, which is a Tyler Perry Production [Madea, which is basically a guaranteed #1 spot in the box office!].
