Williams of The Wire and Boardwalk Empire becomes the latest prominent person to lend their platform to the Human Rights Campaign’s Americans for Marriage Equality. “Gay and lesbian couples have the same values, like family and commitment,” says the actor. “They want to build strong families through marriage.”

Word on the street is The Monique Show has been cancelled, just before starting it’s third season!
According to StraightFromTheA, Rodney Ho of AJC’s Radio & TV Talk confirmed that the show was cancelled after receiving a text from Monique’s sidekick on the show Rodney Perry.
Okay, I didn’t even notice that Mo’nique wasn’t at the Oscars. Truthfully, I forgot she was an Oscar winner after watching multiple episodes of her BET talk show. But as I was reading my friend Necole Bitchie’s site, I was hoping for a real excuse to why she didn’t appear, and the reason…(drum roll)
Because she had to tape her BET show! Really? Really? The Oscars vs. BET?? And all the Black folks complaining about there was no ‘color’ [as if it's required] at this year’s award show. SMH!
“Seeing as how comedienne, TV host, and actress Mo’Nique received the award for Best Supporting Actress at last year’s Oscars, many are wondering why she was missing in action from the Awards ceremony this year. Normally, the winner from the Best Actress category will come back the following year to present an award but it wasn’t the case last night.

What’s the first thing you do after you receive an Oscar nomination? The chitterling circuit of course! Oscar nominee Mo’Nique has signed on to host the Showtime special “Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All-Star Comedy Jam.”
Special will be shot in Dallas at AEG Live’s Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie on Feb. 12, and will also be distributed via pay per view, DVD and online. Showtime’s run of the event will premiere sometime this summer.
