DID HANGOVER II GO TOO FAR WITH ‘N’ WORD??

Hmmm…I haven’t seen the Hangover II movie yet (I’m a Bridesmaids type of guy!), but I’m hearing lots of chatter about the use of the ‘N’ word in the film….I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.  According to political/social blogger Mo Kelly, this is no laughing matter! He writes:

I could go to painstaking lengths, detailing how deeply offensive and unfunny the repeated and gratuitous use of n**** in the movie The Hangover Part II was, but the damage in large part has already been done. This bell can’t be un-rung.

Ooookay….when I was first told about the N-word being used in the movie, I kinda chuckled…but maybe I shouldn’t have!

RACIST ARTICLE AGAINST ‘UGLY’ BLACK WOMEN REMOVED; SHUNNED!

Yesterday an article was published on the Psychology Today website that claimedscientific evidence that proves Black women were less attractive than women of other races…that was just the tip of the iceberg!

Another writer at Psychology Today penned a response to the article entitled ‘Why Are Black Women Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women?

Mikhail Lyubansky, Ph.D.  says:

I just conducted a study that found Black women are more attractive than women from other racial/ethnic groups. I polled myself, 3 different times over 5 hrs. The results are statistically significant and show strong test-rest reliability. I have pretty charts that summarize the data.Not convinced?Of course, you’re not. My opinion doesn’t represent anyone other than me, no matter how many times I decide to poll myself (and for the record, I don’t think women from any racial group are any more attractive than women from any other) Obvious?Perhaps!

WTF! STUDY CLAIMS BLACK WOMEN ARE LESS ATTRACTIVE!

Wow…this Asian dude, Satoshi Kanazawa, is tryna create scienticfic evidence that Black women are less attracive than other women…

Psychology Today reports:

There are marked race differences in physical attractiveness among women, but not among men.  Why?

Add Health measures the physical attractiveness of its respondents both objectively and subjectively.  At the end of each interview, the interviewer rates the physical attractiveness of the respondent objectively on the following five-point scale:  1 = very unattractive, 2 = unattractive, 3 = about average, 4 = attractive, 5 = very attractive.  The physical attractiveness of each Add Health respondent is measured three times by three different interviewers over seven years.

GOP CANDIDATE: BLACK MEN WANT TO DEAL DRUGS & NOT GET EDUCATED!

The Republican candidate for state Senate in the 52nd District said Wednesday night that black men “find it more lucrative to be able to do drugs or other avenues rather than do education.”

Al Reynolds, 65, of Danville made the remarks at a candidate forum at the Champaign City Building. The forum was co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Champaign County NAACP.

REGINA KING GOES IN ON WHITE HOLLYWOOD; EMMYS!

Well, I guess she won’t be starring along side Will Smith anytime soon…LOL!  Veteran actress Regina King calls out the white-washed Emmy’s in a Huffington Post rant ..

Does she have a point? I was expecting some Grey’s noms myself, maybe even a Jada Pinkett….oh well….

Since the Emmy ceremony, I have been going back and forth about whether or not I should compose this letter. I try hard in my daily life not to engage in uncomfortable situations regarding race. But sometimes it’s very difficult to find other reasons that better explain why certain events play out the way they do. It is impossible for me to ignore the published statistics regarding the number of people of color mentioned, celebrated or honored in the history of the televised Emmys. Up to and including this year, there have been only 53 non-white actors nominated for emmys out of nearly 1,000 possible nominations in the top four acting categories for drama and comedy.
