TREY SONGZ DOES CHARITY CONCERT FOR “TREY’S ANGELS’!

On Friday night, Trey performed a benefit concert for “Trey’s Angels” at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

The one night only, event could be viewed by fans across the world online for just $5 bucks with proceeds going towards his Angels with Hearts Foundation. Before the show, Trey sat down with Essence.com and chatted about the importance of giving back to his fans through his foundation.

Even with the overflow of singers turned rappers these days( did you see the Bieb’s “Otis” freestyle) you can’t be mad at the vibrato king for jumping in the pool. Trey Songz is coming out with not one but two mixtapes on November 1st.

Anticipation II, which is the sequel to the tape he put out before his Ready album and #Lemmeholddatbeat2 will most likely find Trey remixing some of the hottest hip-hop and R&B songs. Both covers can be seen above. November 1st will be like Christmas for Trey fans.

Kanye’s on a festival tour these days — after performing at Lollapalooza Chile, South By Southwest and Coachella, the rapper will perform at the 2011 Essence Music Festival alongside other big names in R&B, funk and soul:

Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia and Boyz II Men (!!!) are also featured on the three-day lineup. The fest takes place July 1-3 in New Orleans, and there’s no better way to start celebrating America’s independence than by listening to Boyz II Men bust out some 90s love ballads live in person.
