VENUS WILLIAMS PULLS OUT OF U.S. OPEN

Venus Williams has had to pull out of the U.S. Open after being diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome.

 

The 31-year-old tennis player pulled out of the tournament Wednesday, citing medical reasons. Williams was recently diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes fatigue and joint pain.

“I enjoyed playing my first match here and wish I could continue but right now I am unable to,” she said in a statement. “I am thankful I finally have a diagnosis and am now focused on getting better and returning to the court soon.” Read more…

Serena Williams is known for her revealing outfits on the tennis court but she outdid herself at Wednesday night’s ESPY awards!!

Serena walked the red carpet in a bright pink, VERY low-cut, hip-hugging minidress that made J.Lo’s butt look like a pancake!  The gold Louboutin heels added at least four inches to Serena’s 5-foot-9 frame. Read more…

Damn!  The older these two tennis superstars get, the more comfortable the two seem in their skin!

Venus and Serena hit up the Blackberry Torch Launch Party last night in Los Angeles and the two haven’t looked more gorgeous!  This is the first time in a while the hair, clothes, bodies, and poses were all on point in the same picture!  KUDOS!

Tennis champion Venus Williams is expanding her horizons with her new book ‘Come to Win”!  Congrats, but….

I know this is petty, and stupid, and doesn’t take into account the historical value of the Williams sisters, but can they EVER get their hair together?

All that money and they can’t hire a hairstylist to hook them up!  Venus’ weave looks atrociacious in this pic and many more we’ve seen.  I remember the one time she wore her hair au narurale and I was lovin’ it!  Can we get bacfk to the poof venus?

Now she made up for the bad hair at the event below……

This event was later that evening, as she, Selita Ebanks, and Serena attends the launch party for the book ‘Come To Win’ with LA Confidential Magazine at the Geisha House.  Now Serena hooks herself up and keeps it fashionable most of the time.. [post beady-beads]…so maybe she can hook Venus up with her hair stylist.

Just sayin .. if Beyonce can have a fierce weave, so can the Williams’.

SERENA WILLIAMS DISCUSSES HER MASSIVE BUTT IN ‘BAZAAR’

Serena Williams is officially the Queen of the court after regaining her #1 title and winning ANOTHER Wimbledon this past week!

The tennis Goddess posed for Harpar’s Bazaar and did an interesting interview….here are some snippets!!

On dieting:

Coquette is not the word that comes to mind when you think about Williams. Number one or sister of Venus or muscles does. But lately, Williams has become the queen of lean. After she won the Australian Open in January, “I wanted to get really fit. I wanted to lose some weight. So I’ve been doing Pilates and yoga, trying to lean out my body so I won’t be bulky.” Her regimen: Pilates two or three times a week and when she’s training for a tournament, “a couple of hours of hitting, then an hour or two of cardio and strengthening in the gym.” Also, when she’s at home in L.A., she runs the half mile up a hill to Venus’s house instead of driving. But no dieting. “I don’t even know the D word,” she says with a laugh. There is a training eating plan, though: “Smaller portions of every meal, a lot of grilled or baked chicken or fish, and steamed veggies.” Her weakness? “I can never turn down a good piece of cherry pie, but,” she continues, “all I know is that in 10 years, I don’t want to be as wide as this couch.”

Venus Williams easily took out Patty Schnyder with consecutive 6-3 victories in the opening round match at the French Open on Sunday but it was not her performance that popped eyeballs from their lids! Williams’ lacy black-and-red outfit, which gave “the illusion of being a see-through” according to the AP, is Vee-Vee’s most talked-about on-court apparel choice since she wore a “skimpy lime-green leaf” outfit at the Australian Open in January. Can’t wait to see what Vee-Vee wears for the next round…or doesn’t wear!!!

DID VENUS WILLIAMS PLAY TENNIS IN HER LINGERIE?

Venus Williams took it back to the ’90s with the outfit she wore Thursday night at a match in Key Biscayne. The 1890s, that is.

In her opening match at the Sony Ericsson Open, Venus wore a red, spaghetti-strapped corset trimmed with a flounce. It was part can-can, part Valentine’s Day. And though it certainly flouts the conventions of tennis fashion, the dress worked: Venus won the match 6-4, 6-3.
Nobody seemed to care too much about that though. The first eight questions at the post-match press conference were about the dress.
“The motif is really about sporty sexy, and kind of that whole attitude of bringing that to my game,” she said. “I usually don’t wear red. This is kind of new for me.”

Venus said she plans to wear the dress for her next match as well. If it continues to bring victories, who knows … maybe she’ll get one in white for Wimbledon.
