Comedienne Wanda Sykes revealed in an interview on Ellen, airing Monday, that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in February and underwent a double mastectomy, saying she didn’t want to take any chances of a recurrence.
“It sounds scary upfront, but what do you want?” Sykes said matter-of-factly. And, the way she tells it anyway, the story of how her cancer was discovered is quite the hoot.
“I was having a breast reduction, actually,” Sykes told Ellen DeGeneres.
It’s obvious The Emmy’s aren’t going to have the same diversity as The Oscars had this year – - nonetheless – digging through the pile of rubbish I did find some gems!!
Ms. Wanda Sykes garnered two nominations for her stand-up comedy ‘Wanda Sykes: I’ma Be Me’! She was nominated for ‘Outstanding Writing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Special’ and the show itself received a nomination! You go Queen!

Last night American Idol featured a special 2-hour charity performance event from American Idol season 9. It was also the latest American Idol elimination. The episode only included some of the featured performers due to the problems with the Volcano in Iceland and delayed flights across Europe.
